More Great Information on Outdoor Gloss:
What kind of yellow paint will not be opaque?
I'm starting this project where I have to print yellow letters onto black construction paper. I have to make 100 of these.
I made a stencil out of transparency and tried using Krylon indoor/outdoor gloss spraypaint. That didn't work out so well... It ended up being really runny and bled out through the stencil. And the color hardly showed unless there was a big pool of it.
I tried liquitex acrylic paint because I had a tube lying around and it worked pretty well when I sponged it on instead of using a paintbrush. But it's kind of opaque.
Is there some kind of paint that won't show up opaque and that I can sponge on, perhaps?
It can be any of kind of inexpensive paint. Acrylic is a good choice, but a small tube costs a lot...
Also wondering if I got the wrong kind of spraypaint... Maybe that's why it's not working?
And if maybe there's a faster way to make these banners without such a hassle, then that would be great!
Any suggestions would be really helpful. Thanks!
Ok, you're saying NOT opaque? Because it sounds like you DO want it opaque (not transparent).
If you DO want it opaque, the acrylics will work - just let it dry and apply another coat or two.
You can also mix the yellow with some titanium white, which is quite opaque.
Spray paint will work, too - just lay the piece down flat and apply several light coats. It's running because your piece isn't laying flat and you're likely spaying too heavy.
